Cyclones sit at No. 20
With two Big 12 victories last week, the Cyclone women’s basketball team rose two spots in the AP Top 25 Poll this week. Iowa State topped Texas Tech at home on Wednesday night 63-48 and went on the road for a dominating performance over Missouri.
The Cyclones left Columbia, Mo., Sunday night with a 65-39 victory over the Tigers. Both games last week for the Cyclones resulted in solid efforts from several Cyclone players including junior guard Kelsey Bolte and freshman post Chelsea Poppens.
Bolte posted 19 against Tech, including hitting six of 12 from three point land. Poppens compiled 11 against the Raiders and 14 on the road against Missouri.
Iowa State is now 6-3 in conference play and sits at the second place spot in the Big 12.
