IOWA STATE WINS

Iowa State 62 - Oklahoma 56 - 21.9 in Second Half

Oklahoma isn’t going away quietly, however, Iowa State’s spot on free throw shooting is helping the Cyclones seal the deal. Oklahoma has no timeouts left so they will have to rely on their defense to stop the Cyclones.

Add Danielle Robinson to the list of Sooners players to foul out. Robinson fouled Lacey with 1:49 to go which allowed Lacey to hit two free throws and make it a 10-point Cyclone lead with less than two minutes to go.

Abi Olajuwon has fouled out and the Sooners are running out of time. Anna Prins hit two free throws to extend the Cyclones’ lead to nine, while Kelsey Bolte hit a three pointer the previous possession.

Iowa State 38 - Oklahoma 33 - 11:57 in Second Half

No one said it would be easy! The Sooners are showing why they are the 11th ranked team in the country. Eight minutes into the second half, the Cyclones have been outscored 12-5 by Oklahoma. The Cyclones will now look to regain that offensive spark they had in the first half, as well as shut down the Sooners’ offense.

Chelsea Poppens is starting to put together one of her best Big 12 games this season. Poppens already has six rebounds and four points with all four of those points coming off free throws.

Defensively the Cyclones could not be playing any better. Oklahoma is shooting only 20% from beyond the arc and 25% from the field, an impressive number considering Oklahoma is fifth in the BIg 12 in field goal percentage.
